Size: 11 inches high x 8.5 inches wide, buff watermark paper, blue ink. Snodgrass won the 1960 Pulitzer Prize in Poetry for his first book, HEART'S NEEDLE (Knopf, 1959). The present offering was first published in the MICHIGAN QUARTERLY REVIEW (1989), and was included in THE BEST AMERICAN POETRY (1989) selected and edited by Donald Hall.
