Massachusetts and Holland: Tungsten Press, circa 2014-2015.
A complete and comprehensive archive surrounding the publications of two poetry chapbooks from the Tungsten Press of The Netherlands: THE RAISING OF LAZARUS (2014) and THE TOY THRONE (2015), the latter of which represents the author's last and final publication during his lifetime. This combined archive includes over 250 printed pages of emails between the publisher (Wolfram Swets), and the author (Franz) and his wife (Beth). The contents of the letters are both pragmatic with regard to the publishing of the poems, including revisions to the texts of the poems, and illustrative of the poet's deep and changing state of mind. The archive of printed page drafts numbers over 100 sheets. Additionally, there are printed galley page proofs, mock-up copies, and nine full proof copies of THE TOY THRONE signed by Wright. Overall, this comprehensive body of work bears witness to the complications inherent in the creative process, yet a process that ultimately yields two beautiful publications. A fine archive yielding many opportunities for future research. Item #6651
