New York: Knopf, 1941.
1st edition, limited (1/1000) numbered, full blue cloth, with dust jacket. Roethke's first solo book publication, specially signed by Roethke in his characteristic green fountain pen ink on the title page. The present copy is hand numbered "600" on the colophon page. The book has internal browning evidence from newspaper clipping, else fine and with very little wear. The dust jacket is complete (not price clipped) with only minimal edge chipping primarily to crown of spine. Roethke won the Pulitzer Prize for poetry in 1954 and the National Book Award in 1959. Uncommon in the potentially fragile jacket, and especially so signed. Item #6514
