The inaugural first two issues of the landmark modern poetry magazine, begun in 1912 by editor and publisher, Harriet Monroe in Chicago, Illinois. The first issue includes two poems "To Whistler, American" and "Middle Aged" by Ezra Pound. The first issue (Vol 1, No 1) is in remarkably fine condition, with only minimal wear along the edges of the oversized covers. Very bright and scarce in this condition. Also included is a complimentary copy of Vol 1, No 2, with unfortunate cuts and tears to some of the pages. The selling price is based only on Vol 1, No 1. Item #6469
