original letter in Moore's hand to "Mr F B Adams, Jr, President / The Grolier Club" (from the mailing envelope). The letter is written from Moore's home at 260 Cumberland Street, and begins: "Dear Mr. Adams, / To be with you and Mrs. Adams, and / Mr. and Mrs. Davidson at Monroes, then / proceed to the Grolier Club to enjoy its interests / and courtesies, gave me pleasure. I sure was / among friends . . ." The letter is over 135 words on a single sheet of gray stationery, with matching envelope. The envelope, also addressed in Moore's hand, is postmarked Dec 29, 1948 over a three cent stamp. The recipient of the letter is Fredrick B. Adams, who traveled with Robert Frost on a diplomatic trip to Russia during the Kennedy Administration, and later wrote and published his account TO RUSSIA WITH FROST. The letter and envelope are in fine condition, and are housed within a copy of Moore's NEVERTHELESS (Macmillan, 1944) which shows shelf wear to the jacket. Item #6260
